Diese junge Lady, geborenene Nora Kuzma, am 7. Mai 1968 in Steubenville, Ohio, wird in die Geschichte des Pornos eingehen, als der berühmte Star, der noch unter dem Schutzalter bereits ihre grössten Erfolge feierte. Nora kam nach Hollywood, liess sich eine ID fälschen und eroberte die Pornowelt in kürzester Zeit. Sie erschien in über 100 Filmen und Videos zwischen 1983 und 1986 (als sie 15 bis 18 Jahre alt war), als sich herausstellte, dass sie über ihr Alter gelogen hatte. Es gab einen Gerichtsfall in dem der Produzent von "Those Young Girls", einem ihrer ersten Filme, angeklagt wurde. Die Klage wurde aber dann fallengelassen. Als sie ihre falsche Geburtsurkunde und ihren gefälschten Fahrausweis den Behörden vorlegte um einen Pass zu beantragen, konnte sie sogar diese irreführen. Während die Pornoindustrie für ihre frühe Arbeit verantwortlich gemacht wird, kommt Traci zurück mit einem Exercise-Video, der Hauptrolle im Film "Not of This Earth", einer wichtigen Rolle in John Waters "Cry Baby", einigen kleinen Rollen sogar am TV und einigen Hauptrollen in verschiedenen Action-Abenteuer Filme der B-Klasse. Das Neueste ist, das sie im Vapier Thriller " Blade" von 1998 mitspielt. Zudem hat sie eine CD mit Tanzmusik aufgenommen und erscheint in der TV-Show Melrose Place. Ihr einziger legaler Sex Film, "Traci, I love you", wurde in Frankreich gedreht, kurz nachdem sie 18 wurde. Wer erinnert sich nicht an den Porno Skandal in den achtziger Jahren als bekannt wurde, dass Tracy ihren Studentenausweis von 16 auf 18 Jahre gefälscht hatte, um in Porno mitmachen zu dürfen. Naja, das führte dazu, dass etwas 70% ihrer Filme nicht mehr in den Staaten vertrieben werden dürfen, Sammlerstücke sozusagen. Kürzlich hat Frau Lords während eines Interviews wieder einmal bewiesen, dass sie sich nicht so gerne auf ihre Beine-Breitmachen-Zeit ansprechen lässt. Lieber erwähnt sie, dass sie auf dem Soundtrack zu MORTAL COMBAT ein Liedchen gesäuselt hat, welches sich den USA scheinbar drei Millionen mal verkauft hat und sie gerade für Herr Coppola für eine Mini-SF-Serie vor der Kamera steht. Wenn ein Journalist es aber trotzdem wagen sollte und hartnäckig ihre Vergangenheit in’s Spiel bringt,tracyanalteen, geht das Interview wie folgt zu ende:

Traci Lords (TL): (playing dumb) My earlier career
DR: Yeah, you were a porn star.
TL: That was over a decade ago.
DR: Of course, but I think that most people think of porno when they hear the name Traci Lords. Does your reputation bother you?
TL: (super annoyed): Listen, I have fans from all walks of life. I've got little girls who are 12 years old who are fans of my album 1,000 Fires, I've got fans that are fans mainly because of Crybaby [the 1990 John Waters film], and I have people who know me from when I was a 15 year-old porn star. You're not one of those, are you?
DR: Well, actually yes. Surely you still get offers to return to adult films.
TL: (grabs the tape recorder from my hand): This interview is over!

Traci Lords carries with her a big stigma. A stigma that is unlikely to ever go away. A stigma she carries to every audition and to every role she eventually gets. She is a former "underaged pornstar." Most of you reading this know that little tidbit, the others just said a collective, "That's where I know her from." Yes, Traci Lords was an adult movie actress who has 107 films to her credit (one after her 18th birthday), done mostly while under the influence of drugs and management of some very unscrupulous people. At her peak, she was even a centerfold by the age of 15 in the July 1984 Pent.house issue that also featured the pictures that eventually dethroned Vanessa Williams. She outsold other adult starlets by a margin of 10 to 1. She was known for her incredibly loud moaning that became her trademark. Fortunately (or unfortunately), she doesn't remember most of her time spent in the porn industry, and even left the US for a while to escape her checkered past. She has spent the last 15 years of her life trying to eliminate the stigma she carries. Her success hasn't been overwhelming, but no one can say she hasn't had a career. She has most recently appeared on the sci-fi show First Wave. Beyond acting, she also sings. In 1995, she released her first album called 1,000 Fires that included a catchy single called "Control" that went as high as the No. 2 position on the Billboard Dance Charts. Among her most notable roles are in: John Water's Cry Baby with Johnny Depp, a role on Melrose Place, and an appearance in Blade with Wesley Snipes (she's also in the sequel). She recently got the Best Actress Award at the Comedy Arts Festival for her performance in Chump Change.
